NEW WOOD DUCK SCULPTURE ON ROAD TO HUNGRY HEAD

An impressive Australian Wood Duck sculpture has taken up residence on Hungry Head Road near Urunga.

Officially unveiled yesterday, the duck represents the totem of the late Uncle Thomas Kelly, a Indigenous Elder who grew up in the area and left an honourable legacy.

The re-purposed bridge timber reeds represent Uncle Tom’s connection to country and symbolise the bridges he forged in the community.
