TAMWORTH WAR MEMORIAL DAMAGE TO BE REPAIRED IN TIME FOR ANZAC DAY

The Tamworth War Memorial’s historic Anzac Gates will be fully repaired, just in time for ANZAC Day.

Three of the four honour rolls were damaged last year, when a vandal attacked the monument with what police believe was an impact drill.

Several names on the rolls are now unreadable.

“It’s our history, it’s our heritage, it’s our everything. If we don’t have a monument to pay our respects, what are we going to do?”

The Tamworth RSL Club has welcomed a 10-thousand dollar grant to restore the ANZAC gates.

Work is scheduled to begin on April 9th.
