A Lake Macquarie woman has been treated for burns after a lounge chair was set alight next to a bed she was sleeping in.
About 2:30 on Tuesday morning the 20-year-old woke in her Cardiff home to the suspicious fire.
Other occupants who live in the Henry Street home helped to extinguish the blaze until emergency services arrived.
She received minor burns to her legs and hands and was treated by paramedics.
Lake Macquarie police are urging anyone with information, or may have been in the area at the time, to come forward.
