WPL | MEREWETHER SCORE TIGHT WIN OVER ADAMSTOWN

New Lambton remains on top of the Women’s Premier League after round four, the Eagles easily accounted for Wallsend 4-1.

Warners Bay signalled its intentions – smashing South Wallsend 6-1, while Mid North Coast got its first win of the season, a two-nil victory over Thornton.

While Merewether beat Adamstown 3-2 in a tight tussle.

Merewether was first to score at Myamblah after a well-placed corner and scramble in the box, but Adamstown was quick to reply through Elodie Dagg.

One-all at halftime, the Rosebud then took the lead after this strike from Chelsea Lucas.

After that it was all Merewether with goals to W-League star Rhali Dobson and a second to Nicki Jones sealing the win for the home side.

Meanwhile in the NPL, there was just one game played in over the weekend.

Broadmeadow came from behind to beat Adamstown 3-2.

The other matches were washed out.
