ARMED ROBBERY AT MID NORTH COAST SERVICE STATION

An investigation is underway after a Tuncurry service station was robbed on Sunday morning.

Police have been told a man armed with a knife entered the business just after 6:30am, directing a female attendant to fill a bag with cash and cigarettes.

The man, who had his face covered, then fled on a motorbike.

Around two hours later, police attempted to stop a bike matching the description on Cabarita Avenue at Forster, however the rider fled on foot.

Further checks revealed the motorbike had been stolen from Newcastle West on March 7.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
