Federal member for New England Barnaby Joyce has confirmed he’ll be straight to his feet if a Nationals leadership spill is called.
Speaking to Nine Newspapers, Mr Joyce made it clear if the call was open ‘of course’ he would stand – but he isn’t actively canvassing support.
His comments come on the back of reports that the Nationals leader Michael McCormack has lost the confidence of the majority of the party.
Mr Joyce is expecting his second child with partner Vicki Campion in June.
