RFS REFUTES CLAIMS IT WAS ‘SLOW’ TO RESPOND TO BUSHFIRE

The Rural Fire Service has hit back at claims it was too slow to respond to last month’s Tabulam bushfire.

It comes after some residents who lost everything accused the organisation of reacting too slowly.

The RFS says crews were dispatched as soon as the first triple-zero call was received, and were on the ground within an hour.

A routine review, completed after every fire, is underway.
