GAV’S WEATHER: AN OMA AFFECTED WEEKEND

The weekend weather is going to be affected by Cyclone Oma. Strong onshore winds have settled in along the coast, along with an ever increasing swell which will build further south. Showers with heavy rain periods will affect the coastal areas but nothing will make it inland. It will remain quite hot for northern New South Wales.
Cyclone Oma is still unpredictable and will have to be monitored across the weekend as she may still make sudden moves towards the coast.

SURF REPORT

A large swell will pummel the east coast, especially for South East Queensland and North East New South Wales. Strong South Easterly winds will make only the southern protect point breaks rideable. These will still have strong rip and currents so it is advised that only experienced, very fit surfers take on this weekend.
