COUNCIL URGES TINGHA RESIDENTS TO AVOID FIRE CLEAN-UP UNTIL SAFE

People in Tingha are being urged to not begin any major clean-ups on fire-affected properties just yet.

Armidale Regional Council is concerned that affected properties may be home to contaminants, including asbestos.

Recovery crews will be deployed into impacted areas to analyse materials and ensure anything dangerous is disposed of safely.

Residents will be kept informed of the process, but in the meantime are asked to avoid all fire-damaged debris.
