MEN CHARGED FOLLOWING POLICE PURSUIT

Two men have been charged over a pursuit south of Lismore.

Police allege the pair broke into a Bungawalbin home at around 9 o’clock yesterday morning – threatening an occupant with a knife before fleeing in a Toyota Yaris, believed to have been stolen from Queensland.

They say they attempted to stop the car several times, before the men, aged 20 and 16, abandoned it and fled into bushland.

Both were taken to Lismore Police Station, where they were charged with aggrevated break and enter with intent, and possess prohibited drug.

The older man was charged with multiple driving offences.

Both were refused bail and will face Lismore Local Court today.
