NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS HOLD COMMUNITY SEASON LAUNCH

The Knights held their community season launch this morning, with a huge crowd turning out at McDonald Jones Stadium.
The coach says it’s a credit to the fans, following several tough years on the field.
“Over that time we’ve had a lot of loyal fans turn up, not only to games, but to days like this and it’s great not only for the players but for the fans to get to mix with Kayln Ponga and Mitchell Pearce and or whoever their favourite player is.”
A select number of club members got the chance to go behind the scenes and take a look at the Newcastle change-sheds, while other young fans ran through some of the drills the players use in training.
The Knights first trial takes place against the Dragons in Sydney on February 23.
