TIGHT FINISH AT SURFEST TRIALS
Surfest’s local wildcard trials went down to the wire on Saturday.
Caves Beach’s James McMorland had the lead in the final, and looked set for a place in the Burton Automotive Pro.
That was, until Sydneysider Liam Mortenson produced this – a nine-point ride, and although he finished in a tie with McMorland, he was given the nod on a count-back.
The race for the Holmes Civil Developments women’s pro was just as close, in the end, Corlette’s Elle Clayton-Brown came out on top.
The main events begin on March 11.
