KURRI DRIVER BECOMES FIRST FEMALE TO WIN NATIONAL SPEEDWAY TITLE

Kurri’s Kiona Sunerton has become the first woman ever to win an Australian speedway title, claiming the RSA Street Stocker championship in Gilgandra over the weekend.

The former state champion was one of only two females in a field of 30 drivers, and was rarely challenged, winning two heats and the final.

Sunerton now turns her attention to the New South Wales titles in March.
