There’s been a tragic start to the Australia Day long weekend, after a 46-year-old man was killed in a crash at Wisemans Ferry on the Hawkesbury River.
Emergency services were called to Wisemans Ferry Road just before midnight on Friday, after reports a car had left the road and hit a pole.
The driver, a man from the nearby suburb of Lower MacDonald, died at the scene.
Officers from the Brisbane Water Highway Patrol are now investigating what led to the crash.
