MAN CHARGED AFTER 1000 CANNABIS PLANTS SEIZED NORTH-WEST OF KEMPSEY

More than 1000 cannabis plants have been seized from a property at Carrai, around 90 kilometres north-west of Kempsey.

Officers searched the remote address on the Cochrane Fire Trail on Friday morning, uncovering 1064 cannabis plants, 100 litres of cannabis oil, and 10 kilograms of cannabis leaf.

Three firearms and a large amount of ammunition, was also located.

A 62-year man was arrested, and taken to Kempsey Police Station.

He was charged with 13 offences, including cultivating a large commercial quantity of a prohibited plant.
