WHITE POINTER CLOSES HAWKS NEST BEACH

Bennett’s Beach at Hawks Nest was closed for an hour this morning after a 3.1 metre great white was spotted from the air.

The shark alarm was sounded at 11.30 as patrol members from Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Surf Club cleared swimmers from the water.

An IRB team worked with the air crew to track the shark until it was safe for swimmers to return to the water.
