COMMUNITY MEETING HELD TO ADDRESS STORM AFTERMATH

Walcha residents and businesses affected by major internet outages over the Christmas period due to the storms were given some peace of mind at a community meeting.

Walcha Shire Council Mayor Eric Noakes says while the problem has now been fixed, it’s important to ensure it won’t happen again down the track.

“What’s happened has happened, we can’t change that, we’ve just got to move on and find a way that it doesn’t happen again. Get a better communication with Telstra which seems a funny way to put it, but we need to be able to get onto them quicker and get them here quicker to fix these problems.”
