PARENTS WARNED TO WATCH KIDS AFTER NEAR-DROWNING

A near-drowning incident at Avoca Lagoon has left Central Coast surf life savers again pleading with parents to only take their children swimming at patrolled locations.

Despite the drama, they say drownings have thankfully fallen over recent years.
