TEENAGER CHARGED OVER ALLEGED SEXUAL ASSAULT AT BALLINA

A 16-year-old boy has been charged over the alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl at Ballina.

Police have been told the girl was at a local soccer field at around 8 o’clock on the evening of December 6, when she was allegedly assaulted.

Following inquiries, a 16-year-old was arrested at a home on Fox Street this morning.

He was taken to Ballina Police Station where he was charged with sexual intercourse without consent.
