Police are appealing for public assistance, after a woman was sexually assaulted at Inverell in the state’s north west.
Officers have been told a 21-year-old woman was walking through Lions Park just after midnight on Saturday, when she was struck over the head and sexually assaulted by a man.
The offender is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, around 183cm tall, and with a large build.
He fled on foot with money and other personal items.
