POLICE APPEAL FOLLOWING CENTRAL COAST HOME INVASION

Police are appealing for public assistance after a home invasion and assault at Bateau Bay in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Shortly after 2.30am, three men forced their way into a home on Banks Close, armed with a machete and with their faces concealed.

They threatened a 32-year-old woman and 29-year-old man, forcing them to the ground, before fleeing with mobile phones, cash and jewellery.

A short time later, a 17-year-old man was assaulted with a baseball bat while walking nearby at Woodside Court.

Police believe the incidents are related.

The men are all described as Mediterranean in appearance and around 180 centimetres tall.
