FAMILY SHOW SUPPORT AS MANSLAUGHTER ACCUSED GETS BAIL

A man has been granted bailed after an accidental shooting west of Quirindi, that left a 23-year-old dead.

Family members showed support outside Tamworth Police Station today – while Adnan Al Youssef, accused of manslaughter, fronted court.

“A 41-year-old male retrieved a registered firearm from his vehicle at that property and commenced a cleaning process. During that process, the firearm was discharged, it struck a 23-year-old-man,” Chief Inspector Kylie Endemi.

Police seized firearms and other exhibits from the scene.

“I’m unable to say exactly where the bullet struck the male person but that’s obviously going to be subject to the post mortem that will occur.”

Mr Al Youssef will reappear in Tamworth Local Court next month.
