THREE-YEAR-OLD KILLED IN CRASH NEAR TAMWORTH

A road accident in the north west has tragically claimed the life of a three-year-old boy.

Police say the ute he was travelling in went off the New England Highway at Moonbi, before going down an embankment, hitting trees and a boulder.

Emergency services tried to save the toddler, but he died at the scene.

The 24-year-old male driver was airlifted to Tamworth Hospital – his injuries were not life-threatening.
