ARMIDALE SECONDARY COLLEGE PLANS REVEALED

As Armidale’s two public high school’s prepare to merge, the Armidale Secondary School project has reached the next stage.

A contractor has been announced, and designs released.

The existing central building and indoor sports complex will be refurbished, while all other buildings will be demolished, making way for 79 new learning spaces.

A new way of teaching the curriculum also on the agenda.

“Already we’re implementing next year at the Duval campus a middle school model where our year 7 and 8 students will have a huge reduction in the number of teachers that they’re working with on a daily basis.”

A new ‘Smart Farm’ will also be built, to replace the current agricultural area.

Construction is due to finish up in 2021.
