WOMAN IN INTENSIVE CARE AFTER BRANCH SMASHES CAR WINDSCREEN

A woman is in intensive care, after a tree branch fell on the car she was in at Hallidays Point yesterday.

Police say the 49-year-old was a passenger in a Nissan Murano which was travelling along Blackhead Road at about 6:30pm.

The woman suffered serious internal injuries after a large branch fell on the vehicle and smashed through the windscreen.

She was extracted by emergency services before being taken to Manning Base Hospital.
