NEWCASTLE FIRST UNIVERSITY IN AUSTRALIA FOR COMPLETE RENEWABLE POWER

The University of Newcastle has committed to 100 per cent renewable power across its Newcastle and Central Coast Campuses.

It’s the first University in the country to sign a seven year contract with Red Energy.

“It’s a really big step for our uni and will also significantly reduce our environmental footprints, so our carbon emissions, but also do it more cost effectively.” – Daan Schiebaan, University of Newcastle Environmental Manager.

Campuses will receive fully renewable electricity by 2020.
