MAN CHARGED AFTER FIREARMS STOLEN FROM COOPERNOOK HOME

A 25-year-old man has been charged after a number of firearms were allegedly stolen from a Mid North Coast property earlier this month.

The man was arrested during a raid at a Toormina home near Coffs Harbour on Wednesday.

He was later charged over the alleged break and enter at the Coopernook property on December 7.

Police say seven registered firearms along with ammunition were taken from the property, with one of the firearms located during the raid.

Following investigations, officers searched a second home at Toormina on Thursday, locating another four firearms.

A second man was arrested, but released without charge.
