DRIVER ESCAPES PACIFIC HIGHWAY TRUCK FIRE UNHARMED

Fire crews worked well into the early hours of this morning to clear a truck fire near Taree.

The b-double caught alight on the south bound lane of the Pacific Highway between Moorland and Coopernook on Thursday evening.

It caused major traffic delays and was eventually cleaned up by midday.

The driver escaped unharmed.

The truck was believed to be carrying orange juice.
