MAN CHARGED OVER CLARENCE TOWN STABBING

A 32-year-old man has been charged over a stabbing at Clarence Town north of Newcastle.

Emergency services were called to a unit on Grey Street at around 11 o’clock on Thursday night, where they found a 22-year-old man suffering stab wounds to his hands, hip and leg.

The victim was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Following inquiries, a man was arrested nearby and charged with a string of offences, including two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
