DRIVER DETECTED FIVE TIMES LEGAL LIMIT WITH 3 KIDS IN CAR

A 42-year-old woman has been charged with high range drink driving, after allegedly returning a reading almost five times the legal limit on the Mid North Coast.

Police were first alerted to a Toyota Tarago being driven dangerously at around 5:30 on Wednesday evening, before they responded to reports of an accident involving the vehicle and a B-double on the Pacific Highway north of Bulahdelah just 20 minutes later.

When they arrived at the scene, officers spoke with a 42-year-old woman, who had three young children, aged 2, 4 and 6 in the car.

She returned a positive result to a breath test.

A secondary test at the nearby Bulahdelah Police Station returned a reading of 0.241.

She’ll face Forster Local Court on December 19.
