TAKEOFF TAKE TWO FOR NEWCASTLE TO AUCKLAND DIRECT FLIGHT

It took 16 years and two attempts, but finally another international flight has taken off from Newcastle Airport.

It wasn’t without drama, with the Virgin Australia plane to Auckland grounded for 18-hours, after a lightning strike.
