$2-MILLION TO RESEAL BINGARA ROAD

Farmers needing to drive B-Doubles have always had to avoid the eight kilometre gravel stretch of Bingara Road between Bundarra and Bingara.

This won’t be the case for much longer, with the state government today announcing $2-million to widen and seal the popular access route to Copeton Dam.

It’s expected to improve safety, and slash 50 kilometres of travel off the heavy vehicle freight route.

“Over the last few years we’ve seen a huge number of vehicles, particularly tourists using this road for the shortest route to Copeten Dam, so sealing this road’s going to dramatically improve safety.”
