DEER HUNTING REGULATIONS LIFTED TO CONTROL NUMBERS

As the drought wears on, the Tamworth region’s deer population is sky-rocketing.

Farmers will now receive some relief, with the state government lifting hunting regulations.

Licensed hunters will be placed on a register that farmers can access.

A ban on hunting the animals at night – and from a vehicle on public land – remains in place.
