BLAKE WINDRED FOURTH RESERVE FOR AUSTRALIAN OPEN

Charlestown golfer Blake Windred is fourth reserve for this week’s Australian Open in Sydney, after losing a playoff at today’s qualifying tournament.

The 20-year-old was coming off a great result at the New South Wales Open, where he finished as the top amateur, and the best-placed of the Hunter contingent.

Despite another solid result at the Queensland Open last week, Windred is in no hurry to join the professional ranks.
