SPECIALIST POLICE USED TO ARREST MAN IN STATE’S NORTH

Specialist police were called in to arrest a man west of Mullumbimby overnight, after he allegedly fired a gun, and threatened several others on a property at Wilson’s Creek.

A number of neighbours were evacuated at around 7 o’clock, with the man arrested without incident around an hour-and-a-half later.

He was charged with a string of offences including two counts of possessing an unregistered firearm.

Further charges are expected to be laid.
