HELPING HAND FOR SOME ENDEAVOUR WORKERS

A helping hand has been extended to those left without a job, after Endeavour Industries closed its commercial laundry at Cessnock.

Maitland Independent Disability Support is looking to take on Endeavour’s workers and program participants.

“You know, the transition for these guys is hard enough, so keep them together. So if we could have the staff with the participants, keep them all together would be fantastic.” – Lorraine Martin, Managing Director Maitland Independent Disability Support.

Dozens of jobs couldn’t be saved after Endeavour went into voluntary administration.

  1. I am very disappointed that the last day for the Endeavour Industries workers was overtaken by another service that was offering to take “the workers and participants on”. These people are “employees” valued employees that have put in many years as “employees” at Endeavour Industries. The workers are made up of support workers, administration and delivery drivers – was MIDS referring to all these people to keep together. This media interview was nothing than a publicity exercise at the expense of vulnerable people going through a massive life changing time. What about the residents in the Endeavour Villas – was MDIS keeping these residents together with new housing as well??
MDIS provide day services and community support, Endeavour’s community programs have been taken over by a Sydney based service – MIDS are not the new service and if they were genuinely interested they could have come forward as an interested party in the first instance of the administration process.
