VALES POINT TO BECOME PART OF RENEWABLE ENERGY NETWORK
Lake Macquarie’s Vales Point power station is set to become part of a larger renewable energy network.
The state planning department has approved the establishment of a solar farm, providing power to 20,000 homes, alongside the existing coal-fired station.
Construction on the $117-million project is due to begin early next year.
In 2015, the Baird government sold Vales Point to Sunset Power for $1-million.
