MAN FOUND SERIOUSLY INJURED IN STATE’S NORTH

An investigation is underway in the Northern Rivers, after a man was found injured on the side of a Goonellabah street.

Ambulance crews were called to Shearman Drive just after 5:30 this morning, where they found a 49-year-old man with fractures and bleeding from the head.

He was taken to Lismore Base Hospital, before being flown to Gold Coast University in a serious condition.

How the man came to be injured on the side of the road is now the centre of a police investigation.
