MARINERS AND BOLT PART WAYS

Usain Bolt’s hopes of an A-League contract are over, with the Central Coast Mariners today confirming the world’s fastest man’s trial with the club had ended.

The two parties had been unable to reach an agreement, with it previously reported Bolt was seeking a deal around the value of $3 million.

The club to date had only offered a $150,000 deal to the eight-time Olympic gold medallist.

The Jamaican sprinter’s best performance for the Gosford-based outfit came in a trial against Macarthur South West United, in which he scored two goals.
