LUCKY ESCAPE AS TRUCK ROLLS INTO NORTHERN RIVERS CREEK

There’s been a lucky escape for a truck driver in the state’s north, after his rig crashed into a creek west of Ballina.

It’s understood the truck was travelling along Teven Road at Teven at around 11:30, when it left the road, and came to rest in Emigrant Creek.

Local emergency services, including a HAZMAT team equipped with a boat, are working to clean up the scene and contain around 150 litres of diesel in the truck’s fuel tanks.

The driver, a man believed to be in his 40s, is reported to be in a stable condition.

More to come.
