Hundreds of shoppers and employees have been evacuated from Waratah Village after workmen accidentally cut through a gas main nearby.
New South Wales Fire and Rescue were called to the Turton Road centre around 1pm on Tuesday afternoon.
300 people were evacuated and 16 shops were closed including Coles and Kmart. Most of stores have been reopened.
