The wheels are in motion for the construction of Tamworth’s new $900-thousand cycleway.
The bike track from Greg Norman Drive to Calala Lane was announced just over a month ago, and now the foundations have been laid.
The Northern Inland Centre of Sporting Excellence entered stage-two yesterday, and Tamworth M-P Kevin Anderson says the new path is needed now more than ever.
“We’ve been getting a lot of calls from the community saying it’s a really really busy road and they feel unsafe when they try to get across Goonoo Goonoo Road to get out to what will be the premier sporting facility in New South Wales.”
Work is expected to be complete in the coming weeks.
