SURF LIFESAVING INVESTIGATES DOG INCIDENT AT CATHERINE HILL BAY

Surf Life Saving New South Wales has carried out an investigation, after a video emerged online of what appears to be lifesavers running over a dog in their ATV.

The incident happened over the weekend at Catherine Hill Bay Beach, south of Lake Macquarie.

The Beach Patrol was making a sweep of the northern end of the beach when a dog not wearing a leash, started playing around their vehicle.

The crew braked as the dog ran toward them but reportedly didn’t strike the animal.

The dog was not injured and was retrieved by its owner who was nearby.
