COMMUNITY PROPOSAL FOR COFFS HARBOUR JETTY PRECINCT

The rejuvenation of Coffs Harbour’s Jetty Foreshore precinct is one step closer, with the release of a preliminary concept plan.

More than 2,000 ideas and comments were submitted by the community online and at information sessions.

“I think when you get that number of people who all have an interest in the Jetty area, making submissions I think it’s a great reflection of what the public wants down here.”

Mr Fraser says the proposal will not overdevelop the area.

“I would like to see the growth start on the Northern side along the new breakwall, which will give an opportunity for people to put restaurants and shops and what have you down there and make it a boulevard.”

The timeline for further consultation will be about 12 months.
