Emergency services responded to reports of an aircraft crash in bushland at Somersby this morning, which later proved to be a false alarm.
There were reports of an object falling from an ultra-light plane before it disappeared behind trees shortly before 9am.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called in to assist, but on arrival, no evidence of an accident could be found.
A short time later, police say they located the pilot, who informed them that a male passenger had successfully parachuted from the plane.
