MAN ARRESTED OVER ARMIDALE BOTTLE SHOP ROBBERY

A 33-year-old man remains in custody in the state’s north west, after a bottle shop was robbed in Armidale.

The incident happened at a store on Beardy Street just before 8 o’clock last night, with police alleging the man made off with cash and a bottle of vodka.

Officers later arrested a man on a cycleway on Markham Street.

He was taken to Armidale Police Station.
