MIXED WEEKEND FOR HUNTER DRIVERS

The rain-ruined race marked the end of a mixed weekend for the Hunter’s Aaren Russell.

After setting the fastest time during co-driver practice on Friday, he and team mate Andre Heimgartner qualified in 20th for today’s race.

Fellow local Charlotte Poynting hovered around the top 10 throughout the four races on the Gold Coast in the Aussie Car series.

The final race was also packed with incidents, which saw the safety car deployed several times.
