LAKE MAC FALL SHORT IN REGIONAL BASH

Newcastle has claimed bragging rights over Lake Macquarie, in cricket’s Regional Bash competition.

The Blasters were in big trouble at one stage, sitting at five for 32.

But with Nathan Hudson anchoring the innings, and tail enders Josh Claridge and Toby Gray adding valuable runs, Newcastle battled its way to 112 from 20 overs.

In reply, Lake Macquarie fell eight runs short.
