Visitors to New South Wales correctional centres are being reminded to ensure their cars are contraband-free.

It comes after a weekend blitz which resulted in at least 11 visitors being charged.

Another eight have been prevented from entering centres at Kempsey, Lithgow, Shortland and others across the state.

Officers seized a number of items including two replica firearms, knives, pepper spray, a machete, white powder and tobacco.
