  1. Thankyou for making this story public. Across NSW the commercial fishing Industry is under attack yet again. Since 1994 the have been reformed over and over and over until they can no longer stand the ongoing removal of access and their livelihoods. Recreational Fishing Only Havens make up over 30% of the states Lakes Rivers and Estuaries, 36% of Coastal waters are closed under Marine parks and Aquatic Reserves. The industry has then to contend with the topography of what is left for them to fish in. Not all open waters are able to be fished commercially. Prime fishing grounds have been locked away and the industry has gone from 2200 fishers to around a suggested 600 today. We really do not have an exact number. Every time a commercial fisher loses access and has to leave then industry it is a take from the consumer who has NO way of having input. This has to be addressed. Sustainable fisheries are being made unsustainable by poor management decisions of this government.
